Hey Friend.
What is your purpose? I think that’s a question we all ask ourselves at some point. That’s the question we all wish to have an immediate answer to. Some of us do, but a lot of us don’t.
When I thought of the name Purpose Pink for my lip gloss, that question came back up for me. Not because I had my purpose all figured out, but because I wanted every woman who wears it to remember this:
You have a purpose, whether or not you fully know what it is yet.
I believe all of us were created with intention. Every single one of us has a place here. And honestly, everything on this earth does too.
Even mosquitoes. I laugh thinking about this, but one day I was sitting outside getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. I’m one of those people they love for some reason. I remember thinking, “what is the purpose of a mosquito, besides irritating my soul. Out of curiosity, I looked up what would happen if mosquitoes just disappeared completely.
What I found surprised me.
Mosquitoes are actually one of the main pollinators. If they were to die off, flowers and plants would start dying too. The ecosystem would be thrown completely off balance.
That moment stuck with me because if something as annoying as a mosquito has a role to play… what makes us think we don’t?
I think sometimes we overcomplicate purpose. We expect it to come with a big announcement, a clear title, or a perfectly laid-out plan. But purpose doesn’t always show up like that.
Sometimes it shows up in patterns.
Sometimes it shows up in what feels natural to you.
If you’ve ever struggled with knowing your purpose, here are a few gentle places to start:
What do people consistently come to you for?
What comes naturally to you, even when it’s challenging?
What fuels you instead of draining you?
What makes you feel aligned, useful, or deeply fulfilled?
The answer to the questions are clues.
Purpose isn’t always about what you do for work. A lot of times, it’s about how you show up. How you care. How you impact others without even realizing it.
For me, that’s exactly why I started this business.
One of the clearest ways my purpose shows up is through encouragement. I’m a natural encourager. I’ve always felt called to inspire others, to share my testimony, and to remind people, especially women, that anything is possible. That you can create the life you desire. That you are capable of more than you’ve been told or even what you’ve imagined for yourself.
This business isn’t just about making lip gloss for me. It’s about creating a reminder. Every time you put it on, it’s an opportunity to affirm yourself. It becomes a small ritual rooted in confidence, intention, and self-validation.
What patterns show up in your life that reflect your purpose?
Where do you naturally shine?
And what are some unique ways you’ve already been using your gifts to uplift, encourage, or inspire others?
We don’t wake up every day thinking, How can I walk in my purpose today? But maybe we should, because sometimes purpose isn’t about doing something big, it’s about being who you already are, on purpose.
With love & intention,
Bess
